“If you want to achieve something extraordinary, you have to first achieve it in your mind. Quite often it’s our own self-perception of what we believe we can achieve, that stands in the way.

Examining your self-perception, removing self-imposed limits and replacing that with an unwavering determination to succeed is fundamental in achieving levels of success that would otherwise, seem impossible.

This holds true for individuals, teams and business”.

Grant is an exceptionally determined man. His achievements are beyond what most of us could hope to achieve. And he’s done it all despite his enduring injuries from the crash and what must have been considerable pain.

You can’t ever be 100% after the devastating high-impact Injuries he sustained, so for him to achieve what he has is truly remarkable.

The Dan Nicholl Show:

The miracle cyclist who came back from the dead to achieve the extraordinary

“When I set up a question with Grant on my show, I know what the answer will be broadly speaking because we’ve chatted together so many times, but I don’t watch Grant, I watch the Springbok captain or the Olympic athlete or the leading television personality or award-winning singer on the couch beside him and watch their jaws drop as he explains what he does.

Or I look up into my studio audience and I see them going, this can’t be real. And he was dead! And he’s cycling again. And now he wants to cycle 1000km non-stop through the Alps day and night without sleeping.

You often need to see through the eyes of other people to fully appreciate the magnitude of what he does.

He’s got this new lease of life and he’s deeply appreciative of it. Don’t get me wrong there. He knows he’s got this opportunity and that’s what drives him so hard and so passionately, but it’s other people hearing his story and almost falling over that reminds you.

And I hope it reminds him as well from time to time, just what he’s been through, what he’s achieved and why he is so inspirational.”

“The thing about adversity is it is universal. We all face adversity at some point, what makes the difference is our attitude to It. My 2nd chance at life has been riddled with adversity, but I have learnt to see the opportunities it creates to grow, and to be relevant.”

Grant Lottering

Grant has addressed corporate and conference audiences in over 13 countries.

Grant’s annual Im’possible Tours are a triumph over human limitations. He’s super human non-stop cycling feats through the French Pyrenees, Alps, South Africa and California has led to Grant becoming well known in the media as Mr Im’possible.

His world first successes includes cycling the length of the French Alps, a distance of almost 1000km over 21 alpine mountains in less than 48 hours, the length of the Pyrenees and Alps in one continuous ride within 72 hours, sleeping for only 2hrs 40 min. He also became the first person to cycle through the Sequoia National Forest at night during his epic 51 hour, 960km Im’possible Tour through southern California from Shaver Lake to Big Bear Lake above Los Angeles.

Pushing himself way beyond his own personal and physical boundaries, Grant is one of a handful of athletes in the world who has cycled dozens of alpine and pyrenean mountains through the night without sleeping. Taking such extreme risks is all part of Grant’s message to audiences not to fear failure.

Grant covers numerous topics including resilience, overcoming adversity, perseverance, the impact of our thoughts and self-perception, and living life without limits, challenging and inspiring audiences that we can achieve levels of success that, at first, may seem impossible.

Grant not only inspired and challenged the team to view the goals and their ability to contribute, differently, he inspired and challenged each individual to examine their own personal boundaries and self-perception of what is possible.
